Trail Rules

Keeping all of our guests safe throughout every outdoor adventure is our priority. The trail map and following rules were designed with that mission in mind, as well as to protect our natural resources and wildlife.

User passes for our guests are required at all times on the property. Being on the DMRA property without a proper pass is considered TRESPASSING
Passes are available for purchase online or in person at the DMRA Adventure Center. We accept cash and credit cards for in-person purchases
Annual Pass holders will have a sticker issued to them to display on their helmet or vehicle that is visible to trail staff. Day Pass holders will have a bracelet issued upon arrival at the Adventure Center or other designated provider
Obey all signs, stay on marked trails, and do not open or remove any gates or barriers. All trails are closed unless marked with a trail post
Jeeps, trucks, cars, dune buggies, homemade vehicles, and Mahindra Roxors are strictly prohibited

Adult supervision is required for anyone under the age of 18. Anyone under 18 is required to wear a DOT-approved helmet for OHV vehicles
No alcoholic beverages may be consumed or carried on DMRA property
No littering, camping, fireworks, target shooting, or fires. Please respect our wildlife and nature
Stay alert at all times. We recommend carrying a first aid/survival kit and a cell phone, as the weather and trail conditions can quickly change
On multi-use trails, motorized vehicles yield to non-motorized traffic. Hikers yield to bikes, and bikes yield to horseback riders
The property is open from sunrise to sunset
Dress appropriately and plan for the changing weather. Blaze orange outerwear is strongly recommended during the TWRA Big Game hunting season
For any trail emergency (wrecks, injury, or illness), call 911. DMRA staff are not responsible for helping to remove disabled equipment

Archery Range

Archery users must check in at the Adventure Center and purchase a day or annual pass for use of the range. Users must obey all posted rules for range use and tournament rules, as well as all other applicable Doe Mountain Recreation Authority rules. This includes the following specific archery rules:

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult
Firearms are prohibited on archery courses and ranges
Do not move 3D targets
Fire only at the designated line and walk collectively downrange to retrieve arrows
No running on ranges
Only fire from shooting lines; never shoot across lanes
Inspect all equipment prior to use and never use damaged equipment
Only target tip arrows are allowed
Never shoot upward (Sky Shot)

Hunting Rules

All hunters on DMRA/Doe Mountain Recreation Area property must physically possess, at all times, a current user permit appropriate to their mode of travel. For example, a hunter traveling by foot must purchase a hiking pass, and a hunter traveling by off-highway vehicle (OHV) must purchase an OHV pass.
All hunters on DMRA/Doe Mountain Recreation Area property must follow all State of Tennessee and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) rules and regulations.

OHV Rules

Obey all trail rules. The speed limit is 16 mph on all trails and 5 mph in all trailheads and parking areas.
Adult OHV operators must wear a DOT or SNELL-approved helmet or wear a factory-installed seat belt at all times. Minors (under age 18) must wear helmets per Tennessee law. Eye protection is required.
All motor vehicles must have spark arrestors. Let’s keep it natural: no vehicle noise above 96 decibels.
All OHV occupants must adhere to the manufacturer’s minimum age requirements and capacity limitations. This rule applies to passenger regulations as stated on your ATV. NO DOUBLING ON ATVS UNLESS THE MODEL IS SPECIFICALLY INTENDED TO DO SO.
Inspect and test the vehicle before riding, and never ride alone.
Trails allow two-way traffic. Maintain a safe speed and distance from other riders, and do not exceed your skills.
Be prepared with an adventure hiking trail map, first aid kit, tire repair kit, tools, spare equipment, and a cell phone or two-way radio.

UTV Additional Rules

The operator and each passenger must wear seat belts at all times. Passengers are limited to the number of factory-installed seat belts.
Keep head, hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the vehicle at all times while moving.
State Law requires anyone under 18 to wear an approved helmet while riding in UTVs.

Motorcycle Additional Rules

Singletrack motorcycle trails are for experienced riders only.
A helmet is required. Riders are strongly encouraged to wear full protective gear.
Motorcycles must have spark arrestors and comply with the 96-decibel noise limit. Please limit noise in all parking areas near the Doe Mountain Adventure Center.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH DMRA RULES CAN AND WILL RESULT IN FORFEITURE OF THE PASS WITHOUT REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE
